After the recent update GDM doesn’t start and it boots to blank screen. A fix that I used before doesn’t work. Removing splash from grub was suggested but there is no splash to remove from mine.
Hi
Does this post solve the issue you experience, there are 2 way’s to solve the reported issue with GDM depending on what you want as splash screen.
I’ve seen that but I’m not sure what those do. What is plymouth for? The second option looks good because I don’t want any boot logo. but I already have gdm and libgdm installed and don’t have plymouth and there is no splash kernel flag.
I just tried removing quiet as a kernel flag, it seems to have worked. But I really liked it when it booted up straight to the login screen.
