Black screen after hibernate

Hi all.

I’m dualbooting Manjaro XFCE and Windows 10.

If I choose “Hibernate” in Manjaro, then I’m left with a black screen when I turn on my machine again.

Suspend works fine. I’m not quite sure what information to provide you with, here is what I thought was useful:

… where is @HelperBot if needed

Yikes, I’m so sorry :grimacing:. I’ve updated my post with what I thought might be relevant.

Hello,

In short, your GPU is using the free drivers (that are known to be problematic with resume from suspend/hibernate)
and the renderer is like is a Virtual Machine.
Probably you have video-linux + video-modesetting + video-vesa drivers installed all together. If you prefer to remain strict to free drivers, keep the video-linux one and remove the others, but for that GPU model i recommend to go with video-nvidia-450xx drivers.

Hello! Thanks a lot for your help. I’m fine with using non-free drivers, so I guess I can just go ahead and Auto Install Proprietary Drivers?

Not much else to say than thanks a lot. This solved both the Hibernate-issue, and also the no sound from moniter-issues I’ve had. Really grateful for the manjaro community.
