I need to do data recovery on a system (not) running on zfs. To my surprise the zfs commands is not available on manjaro live environment. What is the recommended live environment with zfs support?
There is no official one, but you can create your own ISO with the zfs driver and tools.
Some version of BSD?
They all support zfs as far as I know.
Nomad is one I tried recently.
(it’s designed to be run from removables like USB)
Perhaps there are some Linux distros that do support zfs with their live ISO’s - but that I don’t know.
I constantly improve on my rescue ISO.
I have just rebuilt the ISO with extra drivers for GPU and this topic made me think - why not add zfs to the mix.
