so i went to update my system because i saw the “175 updates available” thing, however it didn’t update as seamlessly as it usually does. instead, yay just gave me a dependency error about conflicting NVIDIA drivers and quit. pacman did the same. lazy me, instead of trying to solve the dependency error myself, i simply opened up pamac and did the update that way.
not a smart move apparently. after the update, pamac prompted me to reboot my system. so i did system boots up like usual, but then blank screens. ctrl-alt-f2 brings me to tty2, ls shows me all my files, so no data was lost. i went to run startx to start my x server, and, as you can probably guess, that diddn’t work.
