I have noticed since removing light-locker on my second PC that my xfce4-screensaver will get active and not pause while watching movies with celluloid.
The problem is not happening with mpv or caffeine…
Is there a setting I’m missing with xfce4-screensaver that respect celluloid?
xfce4-power-manager-plugin has a Presentation Mode option to disable screensaver

It seems the setting in xfce4-screensaver was somehow corrupt.
Turn on “Enable Screensaver” in xfce4-screensaver and back off fix that problem.
The Activate Screensaver idle setting was still active when "Enable Screensaver was off.
