Hello, (Manjaro XFCE)
I seem to have a problem using Window Scaling x2 for my 4K display laptop. It seems everything looks great EXCEPT the desktop wall paper which seems to be blurred and low resolution as well as the desktop icons. Everything else though is fine. Anyone know how to solve this? Have tried DPI 192 (everything too big) and 96 where everything looks great except the desktop problem. Also Cairo goes off screen too?

could you please provide the output of xrandr --verbose just to check.
Are you using the default wallpaper? The default Breath2 Wallpaper is only 1080p as far as I know.
If so, try switching to a 4k Wallpaper.
also you can try playing with xrandr --output [your display] --scale 0.5x0.5

Yes im using a 4K wallpaper for sure. I’ve tried scaling with xrandr with different values and none really help at all.

the xrandr you provided seems fine. I would suggest trying this if you haven’t already.

Xfce supports HiDPI scaling which can be enabled using the settings manager:
Default-xhdpi theme.Alternatively, it is possible to do the same from command line using xfconf-query :
xfconf-query -c xsettings -p /Gdk/WindowScalingFactor -s 2 xfconf-query -c xfwm4 -p /general/theme -s Default-xhdpi
The steps above would set 2x scaled resolution for Xfce and other GTK 3 apps.
Scaling for Qt 5 apps should be set manually, see #Qt 5.
if so, this might help echo export XCURSOR_SIZE=48 >> ~/.xsessionrc
