XDG_DATA_DIRS environment variable

flatpak install --reinstall

Note that the directories 

'/var/lib/flatpak/exports/share'
'/home/user/.local/share/flatpak/exports/share'

are not in the search path set by the XDG_DATA_DIRS environment variable, so
applications installed by Flatpak may not appear on your desktop until the
session is restarted.

i restarted manjaro and the warning is still there even if nothing is installed

It’s just an informational message - as far as I can see.

If it is more than that:
it’s why I asked

I don’t have flatpak (the command) installed
and, therefore, hopefully obviously, not any flatpak apps
so:
I can’t try and see what I get back when simply issuing:

perhaps I’d get the same response?

this is the exact same message I get to see when I issue that command
… with no flatpaks installed at all …
