What I’m doing is to use x2go to remote desktop my PC from my laptop. My problem is:

  1. When I logged in my PC locally, the x2go client from laptop can connect, but black screen
  2. When I didn’t logged in my PC locally, the x2go client do have image. But once logged in from x2go client from laptop, then I try to log in on my local PC, it will return back to the login screen again and again.

I use the same account to login both in PC and laptop

It might help/clear up some issues.

… where does it fail?
… why would it fail locally, but not remotely?

X2go is a custom build script from AUR and unsupported.

Note: X2Go is not compatible with all desktop environments. You can check X2Go desktop environment compatibility first. Compatibility is especially important if you want to connect to an existing Xorg session. In addition, X2Go does not support GLX 1.4 which is required for many graphical applications, including Firefox. Making those work requires further hacks.

The concept described → [root tip] [How To] Install Raspberry Pi - VNC over SSH work everywhere.

Using tigervnc from the official repo is supported.

It actually connected but without displaying on screen. I’ll try tomorrow using the custom desktop. Thanks a lot

Hi thanks

x2go seems run faster and provide complete xfce desktop function.

VNC is pretty laggy and the image is kind of “smearing” over the screen

…
I have never used that … thing
and I likely never will be.

The link was supposed to serve as … reminder - as a suggestion … not as some kind of “solution”

Giving you that link was genuinely meant as supportive.
… you might not have known about the things within it …

I remember that x2go was easy to install for me. However, I had several problems at the beginning because I didn’t realize that by default it only works if the user NOT is also logged in locally.

If the desktop of the locally logged in user is to be controlled, this is called desktop sharing and must be handled specially. After I took this into account, everything worked without any problems for me. :footprints:

x2go is something I have used before, but in these times, RustDesk is just easier and simpler to use, Check it out, I think it will be much easier to use, I use it personally and professionally.

Hi thanks a lot

From the description, it seems that desktop sharing is like share the same desktop, which means if I opened a program in x2go client, the locally logged in desktop also started that program??

I do not have physical access to my PC currently, I will test tomorrow

Hi thanks

From the arch x2go web, I changed it to custom desktop with command of dbus-launch /usr/bin/startxfce4

It works then, my bad I should have checked the arch help, sorry
