X windows (or xfwm4) leaving window artifacts

I am running XFCE4 on Manjaro. About 2 days ago I started getting bits and pieces of windows left on the screen. I ran a system (pacman) update which took me from xfwm4 4.18.0-4 to 4.20.0-2. But I’m still getting window artifacts. Lots of them.

When I switch desktops and return thing are all cleaned up. To me this appears to be a window manger issue. But I’m not sure

Any suggestion of troubleshooting this issue.

It may be helpful to delete session cache and restart xfwm4

The cool new xfce4.10 solution (again, not for people loving their sessions)

If you already use xfce4.10 you have the possibility to use the GUI to delete the sessions cache
Open xfce4-session-settingsCurrent Session and click Clear saved sessions, then log out and in again. This should be all.

I found the issue. I forgot to mention this was copy of manjaro/XFCE was running on a virtual machine. The problem seems to be a weird interaction with multiple screens on a virtualbox running manjaro/XFCE. I removed the second virtual monitor and the issue has gone away.
