is it part of Pamac updates,or do we have to individually update through the bios?
Microcode updates are always applied as part of the update process for the rest of the system. But on the other hand, if your motherboard vendor is offering a firmware update, then it might not be a bad idea to install that as well.
Important additional note: If your motherboard vendor or laptop producer or whatever offers a firmware update, apply it.
Via Linux, the microcode update will be applied, but only after Linux has booted sufficiently, and only for that boot. On reset, it’ll revert to the firmware version, again until Linux patches it. Given the nature of this bug (i.e. causing silicon degradation), you probably want to have the new microcode from boot, rather than from Linux starting.
