Window Manager Warning: MWM Hint for Steam games

Hi,

I am using Manjaro with Gnome 44.3 and after a recent update I am having trouble with games starting, but not “capturing” the cursor. I still retain the cursor design of gnome instead of switching to the game cursor design and when I click somewhere, the fullscreen game minimizes and I am back to the desktop.

I looked at journalctl and saw this:

Jul 14 18:55:22 user-pc gnome-shell[3505]: Window manager warning: Window 0x3a00003 sets an MWM hint indicating it isn't resizable, but sets min size 1 x 1 and max size 2147483647 x 2147483647; this doesn't make much sense.
Jul 14 18:55:26 user-pc gnome-shell[3505]: Window manager warning: Window 0x3a00003 sets an MWM hint indicating it isn't resizable, but sets min size 1 x 1 and max size 2147483647 x 2147483647; this doesn't make much sense.
Jul 14 18:55:48 user-pc gnome-shell[3505]: clutter_actor_get_preferred_width: assertion 'CLUTTER_IS_ACTOR (self)' failed
Jul 14 18:55:48 user-pc gnome-shell[3505]: clutter_actor_get_preferred_height: assertion 'CLUTTER_IS_ACTOR (self)' failed

Could that be the reason for such a behaviour?

I have posted this issue over at the gnome forum as well, but it may be more of a manjaro issue than a pure gnome issue.

Appreciate any help or insight.

kind regards.

I’m getting similar errors on EndeavorOS with multiple games. In Overwatch, the cursor isn’t captured, and in League the game just freezes outright until I tab out and back in.
