Wifi speed slow on Manjaro vs Windows

Hey guys, I just recently installed Manjaro and I’m quite satisfied with it. But the problem I am having is that my Wifi speed are much slower than on Windows. I should be hitting close to 200 mbps on wifi but on Manjaro I only get 40-50 mbps. Besides I only get 1 bar on 5ghz on Manjaro vs on Windows I get full signal, on 2.4ghz in Manjaro I get full signal but the speed is 25% of what I should be expecting.

I use a Asus AC-56 PCI Wifi network card.

Not sure about that specific chipset (BCM4352), but what if you try with the open source bcm43 driver instead of wl?

From what I can gather, it’s only supported by the proprietary wl driver, but perhaps things have changed in recent years?

EDIT: Not looking good. Seems to be a particular chipset that doesn’t work well under Linux and you’re stuck with the closed-source wl driver.

The Linux driver hasn’t been updated in six years!

My opinion, I would go with another card if it’s feasible for you, depending on cost and long-term usage (in Linux).

I got tired of trying to get my intel card to work right. I disassembled my laptop, unplugged the card and use a usb WiFi connection now. My speed went up to what it should be and have no problems even streaming HD video.
