Why the animated colorful waiting cursor stopped being animated?

hello
lately when the cursor appears it is frozen and not animated.
why?

hi
a little more information would be helpful.
the output of these two commands would be useful.
inxi --verbosity=8 --filter
gsettings list-recursively org.gnome.desktop.interface | grep cursor

post the respective content as code via the button: </>

Mod edit:- Note that sudo is not required to run inxi.
Your post has been edited to reflect this. Cheers.

As has been said;

Please provide system information as described (below) and please… read and absorb the link (also below) entitled ā€œHow to Postā€.

You have been a user of this forum long enough to understand the basic requirements of asking for Support.

Regards.

Welcome to the Manjaro community

As a new or infrequent forum user, please take some time to familiarise yourself with Forum requirements, and the many ways to use the forum to your benefit:

Update Announcements

The Update Announcements contain important information and a Known Issues and Solutions section that should generally be checked before posting a request for support.

System Information

While information from *-fetch type apps might be fine for someone wishing to buy your computer, for Support purposes it’s better to ask your system directly; :eyes:

Output of the inxi command with appropriate parameters will achieve this (naturally, formatted according to forum guidelines) and will generally be more useful for those wishing to help:

inxi --filter --verbosity=8

or the short form:

inxi -zv8

Be prepared to provide output from other commands whenever asked. It’s equally important to provide as much actionable information as possible in your first post, rather than simply indicating there is a problem.

Mod edit: Note that inxi --verbosity=8 --filter and inxi -zv8 are the same command and produce the same output. This was clearly described (above) as it has been on many other occasions. The superfluous pasted output has been removed.

no, unfortunately this is not a common problem, it works on my machine
even if i switch to your cursor-theme it still works, the only difference is that i use the 6.14 kernel, but i almost don’t think that’s the reason.
you can try to change the cursor theme? so i have no idea at the moment, but maybe someone else.

never mind.
it is not such a big deal…
my focus was more about letting you know about it…
tnx anyway

In the interests of improving the standards of support in Linux, I would like to politely request that you improve the standards of your interactions here.

  1. You mention an issue with your systems.
  2. Firstly with the mention of someone using a 6.14 kernel (one possible difference) you should consider rebooting to a different kernel to test the theory.
  3. Change the cursor theme to verify that it is not a specific issue with one theme on your machine (i.e. is your problem ONE theme, or MANY themes?).

Your response ā€˜never mind’ is unfortunately dismissive, disrespectful, and disappointing considering that you also decided to complain in another thread about the quality of Linux Support.

Linux Support starts here, with you.

Off topic;

I suppose, traditionally, I am a mono-themist; though sometimes I do subscribe to the many themes theology.

It just depends on my state of mind, or my desire for just a breath of change. :sparkles:

So you are a panthemist? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’ll get my coat… :man_walking:

I was rather impressed with your inventiveness, though surely as polytheists worship many Gods (Greek) then a polythematist would worship many themes.

As you, yourself do worship your theme, then I assume you’re more of a Monothematist… or perhaps an aesthetic liturgist might be more appropriate.

These matters must be taken extremely seriously, as accuracy is of vital importance in such a valuable technical thread.
