Why does Manjaro support RT kernels?

Why does Manjaro support officially RT kernels? Is there any pros and cons comparing to official kernels? Will Manjaro support hardened and zen kernels in the future like ArchLinux?

There are use cases where you need realtime responsiveness against priority responsiveness. The major difference is just: a realtime request will run just in time, but a priority request will run when the scheduler decides, it should run.

Use cases:

  • industry / automation
  • multimedia systems
  • aerospace
  • financial services

An example would be recording/editing audio, so that there is almost zero latency. So in case of Manjaro, it is useful for any multimedia systems.
