Which tablet model (cheaper better) to install Manjaro on?

Hi everyone!
Apart Pine64 phones and tablets, does anyone know about cheap tablets to buy eg on Aliexpress to satisfactorily install some kind of Manjaro onto?
Eg I recently come to know about a surprising chuwi hi 10 and got to know it was marketed since 2016 althought with limitations with Ubuntu, Debian, (seemed worked a bit better better with Fedora)…

Thank you very much!

Have a look what is shown here:

Detailed discussion about specific hardware is deprecated to be discussed here as being very quickly outdated.

Thank You. I partially forgot about that announcement.
Prices are way too high on one hand form my intent, on the other hand I like to old linux way to reuse cheap hardware. Any help or hint in these perspective?

Truth to be said it’s more like: we have not tested anything else AND/OR we do not make recommendations for hardware if they are not sponsors

Even if some members would claim to have tested certain hardware it remains a subjective opinion for their use case without general meaning and on top of that as I said being outdated pretty quickly.

(Any) Linux on ARM is still a problem for daily usage on phone or tablets - devices that are short lived (what Wollie says is very valid) and heavily customized. The problem are the specific drivers and hardware. The manufacturers are not linux friendly, so it has to be more or less reverse engineered. And this is dependent on how popular or interesting is the device…
So to sum up: you could probably run linux on a couple of tablets…there is plasma mobile, there is posh, but you will quickly discover although it boots, your build in camera, or modem, or wifi does not work…

The situation gets better if you want something more generic and popular with long shelf life and with real ports, like raspberry-pi. So a project like home firewall, nas, mediacenter etc. is very feasible.

Yes, I am well aware of it. I hope(d) there were some secret gems, something as in the 2010s when first smartphones were somehow on similar hardware and relatively hackable with some ROM. I enjoyed some of those dists.
