Hi at all, just want to know when kde plasma 6.4 will be released? I know when it’s ready, but version 6.4 was released in June 2025. Thanks for the work an the stable distro!
If you have updated within the past week, it should already be on your system. Plasma 6.4.5 hit the Testing branch repos more than a week ago, as my update log shows:

Not yet on Stable, but already through to Testing…
Hi at all, thanks. I was not clear enough. I am on stable branch. In the testing announcements I did not found the info that the plasma 6.4 is already released. Just wondering why it takes so long for the stable branch.
BR
Be patient and wait for stable to update.
Explaining why will make it take longer to get to stable.
This does not make sense to me.
That said - the reason would almost always be some bug(s) someone is expiriencing.
In future, please do not post questions related to Stable branch in the Testing or Unstable branch update topics. Those topics are intended for feedback about any issues users on those branches may have encountered during or after an update.
Why not switch to Testing branch? Your user profile indicates that you have been a Manjaro user for several years, so you should be experienced enough by now to handle the change. Testing branch is very stable anyway - it just updates every week or so compared to Stable branch updating every 1 to 3 months.
To switch to Testing branch:
sudo pacman-mirrors --api --set-branch testing
or, to switch to Unstable branch:
sudo pacman-mirrors --api --set-branch unstable
After you changed the branch, rebuild the mirrorlist and update your packages:
sudo pacman-mirrors --continent && sudo pacman -Syu

FYI I was told when reporting a KDE bug (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=510343) that the 6.3 release is no longer supported.
What you were actually told was this:
FYI
In this instance, your distribution will make it available once it’s fully passed the vetting process.
As already indicated in the solution post, Plasma 6.4 is currently in Testing – it should be released to Stable when it’s done being tested for a Manjaro environment.
Regards.
Just in addition to the above replies, when you reach Trust Level 2 on this forum, you will automatically be granted access to the Member Hub. That means you will then also have access to the This Week in Plasma - updates thread, which is a good way to see what changes are being implemented and bugs have been fixed for each Plasma release.
For “This week in Plasma” info I’d rather recommend the source:
This does not have any restrictions at all.
Although the topic in this forum has a much better search than Planet KDE, which only provides post titles as results:
That was one of the main reasons I started the topic. I’m also fairly certain that the Planet KDE site didn’t even have a search box at the top of the page until a month or two ago.
But yes - I definitely should have mentioned in my post that the original posts on Planet KDE are accessible to anyone.
