What are these sensors in the sensor viewer?

Hey all,

Totally new to Manjaro, XFCE & never really committed to Linux as a daily PC - but I’ve taken that plunge on a pretty dated PC (which i use daily) and over all am enjoying Manjaro a lot.

Considering the age of my hardware, i thought it would be good to check on some of the temperatures and the sensor app completely confused me. Below are some of my key system specs .

  • Processor: AMD FX-8150 CPU (8x 3.60GHz/8MB L2 Cache)
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 – AMD 970
  • Memory: 8 GB [4 GB x2] DDR3-1600 Memory Module - Kingston HyperX
  • Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 7970 - 3GB - Single Card

When i run the sensor app, i get three results:

  • amdgpu-100 - Name=edge, value= 51 degrees C.
  • k10temp-c3 - Name=temp1, value= 13 degrees C.
  • fam15h_power-c4 - Name=power1, value= 42.5w

amdgpu-100, i assume is the AMD 7970 video card? The temp values feel like they are in range of what this card should be idle (maybe?). k10temp-c3? Can anyone tell me what that is? the temp is consistently pretty low. Lastly, fam15h_power-c4 - is that the power supply wattage?

How would get this set up to register the processor temperatures?

Thanks for anyone’s help, really appreciate you taking any time you have to help a Linux newbie.

Yes.

k10temp is

AMD Family 10h+ CPU core temperature monitor

fam15h_power is

AMD Family 15h CPU processor power monitor

Thanks for the response!!

k10temp is super interesting to me… 13c feels low. I will do some research and see what temp ranges are normal.

Thanks again.
