Well, hello. Iâm a long-time lurker here.
Been using Manjaro since Windows 7 went obsolete (about four years ago). Iâm running AMD hardware, actually posting here since I have found the forums and wiki very useful for surviving the lumps and bumps that Iâve encountered along the way. The regulars here on the forums are knowledgeable and just as crochety as I am
Iâve been using Unix and GNU/Linux for about 20 years off-and-on now (mostly in a professional setting), so I get a few laughs out of some posts here and there every once in a while, but I really like the attitude that folks here maintain. To me, Manjaro isnât the first pony youâve had a ride on, itâs the temperamental one that doesnât care if you manage to ride it or get bucked off of, and I like that, keeps you on your toes, but if you can give it a carrot or apple or two, treats you like it outta. The community here keeps me coming back for good advice and troubleshooting through all the odd âproblemsâ that I end up encountering, and itâs nice to know that someone else out there has run into the same issues that I have during my time using this distro so far. I donât expect anyone to hold my hand, but it seems I donât need to ever ask since some other people have run into the same issues at the same time as I have, strangely enough.
Thanks to all the regulars here that remind me of the folks Iâve worked with in the past that reminded me that things are easy when you do the right research. Thanks to the mods and Manjaro team that are active here, Iâve overcome the obscure obstacles simply by searching the wiki and forums for all the answers Iâve ever needed. You are the best!
Regards,
I/O
Hello i am Kiaan a robloxian and someone who will not use spyware 11 i will only use it if i need to play roblox because roblox is now blocking wine
Hi @Kiaan,
I have no idea if this will help, but there might be something for that in the AUR:
$ pamac search roblox
wine-roblox-bin 9.2-1 AUR
Wine staging builds with patches specialized for running Roblox.
So it can be installed with:
pamac build wine-roblox-bin
pamac build âŠ
Whoops. Fixed. Thank you.
Hello everyone,
I am just another Microsoft refugee. Barely escaped with my life!
In all seriousness, I nuked my Windows partition about a week ago. I had been toying with the idea for some time. I simply enjoy Linux and what it represents. I chose Manjaro as a daily driver because I appreciate a challenge and love learning.
Best, Taylor
Hi, I am ron. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication. I have been using Linux since its inception (early fav was Suse for years). Have tried a lot of distros (iâm retired); I think Manjaro is the best now! No particular projects, just like digging around on computers! Oh, yeah - Roll Tide!
Hi hello! Used Ubuntu many, many years ago when they used to hand out free CD/DVDs to install their OS.
Now many years later Iâve come back and been hopping between distributions quite a bit and recently settled on Manjaro and itâs been so far a very smooth and a fun experience.
Stuff just works
So why are you using Manjaro then?
From Manjaro:A Different Kind of Beast - Manjaro :
Although Manjaro is Arch-based and Arch compatible, it is not Arch. As such, far from being just an easy-to-install or pre-configured version of Arch, Manjaro is actually a very different kind of beast.
That is the first time youâve said it. Previously you said:
Welcome to the Manjaro community.
Itâs too early for Christmas, I know, but you seem to be The First Noel weâve seen on this forum. Have a great stay.
Hmm, the puns are failing. Iâll see myself out.
Hey IâM Sibelius! Iâm using Manjaro since 2013 and still love it. Before I have used Arch and many other distros. Now I need support for the first time and need to write posts in other threats in order to reply to an answer I got.
Hello, juxtr here.
Beginner.
I would be glad to spread the word about this fabulous distro.
Fundamentals of coding is what I want to learn.
Thanks.
Hi @djuxter and welcome to the Manjaro community.
Letâs start with the fundamentals of using the forum:
As a new user, please take some time to familiarise yourself with Forum requirements; in particular, the many ways to use the forum to your benefit:
And last, but not least, the Stable Update Announcements, which you should check frequently for important update related information. Occasionally an issue might be directly related to a particular update; itâs always best to check those announcements.
I hope this helps. Cheers.

Hello Manjaro forum,
I would like to introduce myself to you.
Because of my father, I am (British) English (mother German), but born (1966) and raised in Germany Berlin.
In the call center times I had often spoken English, but I havenât worked there for 12 years anymore and in the other jobs or private I hardly had to speak English and unfortunately have forgotten most in the meantime.
I worked in the call center for 12 years in technical support (hardware and software) (Windows, Compaq, Dell, HP, Palm and many others).
There it was easy for me to listen to people on the phone, to hear their mistakes and problems quickly and to give customers satisfied answers.
Thatâs why Iâve always resisted doing e-mail support, because I donât like writing, because of the misunderstandings, misinterpretations.
I know what I want to write, but my fingers canât follow my thoughts so fast, so I correct my writing and my thoughts are already further along and forgotten.
The result is what you can read here.
I started in the 1980s, still with the x286, then x386 and x486 and Pentium and then on and on to the current i7.
And I had also installed all the other hardware on the market, in my many PCâs that I had.
Initially with Windows from 3.11 to Windows 10.
(Windows 11 doesnât come with me on the hard drive, after Iâve already read so much about Win11).
Therefore, I hope that Linux Manjaro, which will also replace Windows as a gaming platform.
Because I have to have Windows to be able to play my shooting and car racing games and others.
Otherwise I would only work and play with Linux Manjaro.
I canât remember, but I think Suse, later openSUSE, was my first Linux.
At some point on DistroWatch, Manjaro was often among the top 10 and sometimes among the first 3 Linux distributions.
Thatâs why I chose Manjaro and to this day I donât regret it.
Starting with the PC was so that my mother explained to me how to play and finish solitaire,
while I waited for my mother to pick her up from her work.
When I had my own PC, I had to take care of my PC problems and others also came to me with their PC problems.
Thatâs why I learned more and more and faster.
So also with Linux, especially here in the forum, I have also learned a lot.
In the meantime, I can solve my Manjaro problems well with your help.
So thatâs roughly my PC life.
Greetings from Berlin
Tony

Hallo Manjaro forum,
Tony
Just as a friendly reminder, please use English only in your posts. If you do not sufficiently master the English language, then you can always use the Deutsch category.
Hi, Iâm Daniel, I study support, I installed manjaro on a 2012 MacBook Pro.
I have never used arch, so I am a mega newbie, I hope I can learn a lot from this distribution
When you run into trouble with that, not if but when, check out the dedicated section for it on the Arch Wiki first:
