Hello this is my first time using(not testing) Linux and I genuinely wanna learn it. But I’m quite sensitive to repeating sounds. I have Razer Kraken V3’s and they are not making the same sound when using them on Windows moreover I tested Fedora for a day once and the sound wasn’t there. I’m assuming it has to do with drivers but i’m not quite sure anymore. Beeping persists even when sound is muted in system. It sounds almost like a dog whistle or something like that, like its a ever changing mostly high pitched static/beep. Any pointers or any knowledge would be amazing.
Hello there @addjam and welcome to the forums.
Please post the result of inxi -zv8 so we get more info about your system.
When posting the info, either put three backticks ( ` -sign) on an empty line before and after it, or paint over the text and then press “preformatted text” </> from the post toolbar. With long entries, you might also want to use “hide details” on it from behind the + -button on the toolbar to make the post more manageable.
Hey so here’s the result ![]()

I don’t even imagine how you succeeded to post the inxi on one line, i think you are the first with that formatting error ever

MS-Windows. Like MS-DOS before it, it requires a combination of a newline character and a carriage return as line breaks, whereas UNIX only needs a newline character. ![]()

Maybe that’s a nicer way to go for noobs - I do like a text file… it’s sad that folks can’t just drag and drop to attach a .txt file to the forum (only images, which are discouraged).
To help over come that annoyance, some text apps (particularly editors) will give a choice of \n, \r, or \n\r so the document can be used interchangeably between systems.
This is nothing new. Neither is the fact that lesser and lesser people seem to be aware of it; perhaps because they typically doesn’t see them unless they check settings. ![]()
If an IDE is used, when let’s say coding PHP, they are quite commonplace; used to force PHP output to follow the expected flow of a HTML document, for example.
Hm, sure, let’s make that happen…
