Weird 1 hour cycle for The Finals (Steam game)

Hello, I’m having a very weird issue: I can only play The Finals (a video game, on Steam native) for one hour at a time.

To be more precise: I launch the game and start a 1 hour timer at the same time, and every single time the game crashes after exactly 1 hour!!! Plus or minus 30 seconds (it’s super precise!).

If find it very odd and I wanted to have your thoughts about this?

Manjaro up to date, KDE Plasma, Steam Native, and Nvidia GPU.

Thanks!

what crashes ? total crash, stuck … ? please describe what in detail crashes.
also post the mandatory output of

inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width

Maybe more info there.

The game crashes: the image freezes. I believe the sound goes on working.

Are you starting the game on the Nvidia GPU or with the default Intel GPU?

After going through this thread I believe I’m using the Nvidia.

I am encountering same problem.

Well, good news! Switching to Plasma 6 somehow solved the problem :tada::tada::tada:

I hope anyone else with this issue will also get it fixed with that update!

Marking this as solution (though it’s not a solution for anyone still having to use Plasma 5…).

Cheers!
