WD MyCloud recognized by Dolphin but not accessible

Hello, first of all, I would like to sincerely thank the Manjaro team. After countless attempts to find the right Linux distro as a replacement for Windows, I think I’ve finally found it. I believe it’s Manjaro. The aesthetics are very appealing, the speed is excellent, and it’s the only distro so far where my laptop fan stays quiet and doesn’t work, which also greatly extends the battery life as the processor doesn’t heat up.

However, I must also admit that no Linux distro is perfect. Each has its quirks, and so does Manjaro. For example, there was the issue with restarting or shutting down the laptop, which initially wasn’t possible without manual correction. I mean, how can something like this be provided as stable? But anyway, that’s fixed now. How about the rest?

Something else that bothers me a little is that Manjaro seems to have issues with scaling. Changes to the resolution, scaling, or even just the mouse size weren’t applied immediately, at least for me; a restart was necessary. But these are minor issues that haven’t stopped me from using Manjaro so far.

However, I do find one problem noteworthy, even though I’ve already fixed it. My WDMyCloud was not recognized by Dolphin, or rather, it was recognized, but I couldn’t access it. I had to manually add the URL. Could you please look into this? Otherwise, I am really very satisfied and will now support your work monthly. Thank you for this great distro.

Welcome at the Manjaro forum, @FrankW83,

There is a thread dedicated for introduction and initial feedback:

Please, move the correpsonding part of your post here and focus on your issue in the support section. What I miss is basic information of your system, it’s always a good start to post output of

Manjaro is not preconfigured for each and every usecase.

You will need to either enable services or apply configuration specific to your usecase.

This is especially true for network shares and printing - which may or may not work out of the box.

Please use the forum search function when you have difficulties - chances are high the topic has been previously discussed.

Please see the Tutorials section - search for samba or smb to see what guides may be available.

Carefully reading the good post by @FrankW83 (welcome to the Community by the way!) it looks like there may only be one actual issue?

The feedback is valuable but really belongs in the appropriate section, to keep things, in the Support thread, as straightforward as they can be.

Is this working OK now, or are you having to do this every time?
