I added a new applet called pin panel, it just toggles the auto-hide state of a panel… is very handy.
Though I wanted to keep the pin icon to very last position, and I discovered that hovering over applet icon no longer brings up the move cursor nor the remove applet option…
On closer look the remove applet option was moved to right click menu, so something has definitely changed in recent updates… anyone knows if the rearrange option was removed or moved?
Also we’re behind on Plasma 6.6.x latest release on Manjaro, so if anyone running latest, is it back in later versions?
But yes, just cottoned on to this today, as I don’t mess with the panel too often I can’t say when it started, but likely the recent Testing update… KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.6
Clicking on applet in edit mode / panel configuration menu just opens the applet…
Thanks for letting know.
Just a minor thing… its fine, I’m glad I didn’t touch arrangements of other panels.
For this, I can see the remove option on the right click menu that is right clicking the applet while in panel configuration menu, not directly right clicking on the applet on desktop
Now, in Edit mode, hovering the panel highlights the whole thing and pops up ‘panel edit mode’… there’s no right click option there.
It’s glitchy, I just made it pop up one time clicking around - but I couldn’t actually do anything because it just flashed up and vanished… but it’s apparently fixed in Unsstable right now.
A question on little bit different topic - Since I am about to switch to Testing branch, Are updates for Stable held back even for such small issues?
Say If this was before 6.5.6 pushed to Stable and I created this post in Testing branch, would the 5.6.5 have been held back due to such small issue/s to keep the Stable philosophy of not a single system should have issues, or its as I assume - too minor and ‘Not a system breaking Issue’?
Updates are held back for major issues.
If you want it fixed apparently, just update for example on Unstable branch. It works there as I mentioned previously.
After latest update, from 26.0.3 to 26.0.4, kwayland 6.5.6-1 + plasma-workspace 6.5.6-1 + plasma-desktop 6.5.6-2 are corrupted (or packed badly). Every one, on it’s own, makes the same exact problem with widgets/applets. Just skip those 3 and update ALL else and you’re good to go - everything works as always, until 6.5.7 or whatever fix the “glitch”. P.S.: I’m not a coder or anything, just was bored and tried to find what’s breaking the widgets/applets after update.
