Warpinator not working with new PC

I never had problems with warpinator in the past, it is working for years between my old PC and Laptop.

But i can’t get a connection with my new PC and idk why the connection won’t established.

The new PC won’t even get auto detected from Warpinator.

On the screenshot below i can at least finally get a incoming connection when i manually try to connect from my Laptop but the connection is getting rejected instantly.

Local IP’s are 192.168.178.2 (old pc), 192.168.178.20 (laptop) and 192.168.178.21 (new pc). Port connection and firewall rules is equal on all 3 devices.

Disabling the GUI Firewall won’t change anything.

I think the culprit is related to my Warpinator Settings but i can’t find a location for this settings.

Question to check, have you moved some config from old to new? I’m not using warpinator but I guess to trust some kind of key / computer exchange is needed and not the old key en new computer don’t match?

Yeah i did moved some config files,
I duplicated my Homefolder, i was also thinking about to reset my warpinator config files, but its not so easy to find them.

I tried uninstall and reinstall, but that didnt helped.

Using modulejail in new PC (may be it’s blocking some needed module)?

Security fix, closing Kernel Modules (DirtyFrag & PinTheft):

I was also thinking about that already and removed both security fixes (besides my old PC and Laptop) still working with that fixes and warpinator… but even after removing that, i have no success :frowning:

Many months ago i tried warpinator and had similar problems. Couldn’t debug it (fast) so i switched to localsend.

Since Tuxedo Pulse is my Laptop (which Homefolder i also duplicated for this NEW PC) i think i need to delete some warpinator config files.

Do you open tcp and udp ports or only tcp? It seems only tcp, try changing to tcp and udp.

I sended my logs from yesterday, i had activated the rules and deleted them after nothing was working… as i said already, i disabled firewall also in the GUI.

Today i you can see in my screenshot in Topic, i recreated this firewall rules again, both for TCP/UDP.

Im not able to find any Warpinator config files.

Sadly, nothing is stored there…

I also checked the files in Pamac and after uninstall all files deleted… but when i reinstall warpinator, i see my old individual config adjustments :frowning:

If you want to discard an ufw issue, run sudo ufw disable and sudo ufw status in both computers to be sure firewall is inactive. Then try to connect. After the test, sudo ufw enable again.

Should spit out some more when run from the terminal and can helpfull for you to find the issue.

This seems to me that the client wants do something the network cannot deliver, is something else running on that port?

Settings are in dconf, used to be in ~/.config/warpinator/ editor in the repo: dconf-editor not sure how if how this works on KDE tho.

As i said already, that folder not even exist in KDE

Also all files getting deleted (fake deleted), since all settings are fully restored after i install warpinator again.

Does it exist on the other machines, where warpinator is running correctly. If so, you could adapt that config.

It doesn’t exist on KDE, this exist only at Gnome and LinuxMint i think… not on my other two devices.
