Manjaro decided to rip out everything between 390xx and 455xx with no logical reason.

Dropping all legacy and older Nvidia drivers ?!?

[image] It becomes harder and harder to support the older and legacy Nvidia drivers for upcoming kernel series. Starting with 5.9 kernel series, only 450 and 455 are supported by this kernel. Older drivers simply don’t compile anymore. Out of the two, only 455 supports CUDA. If we look at Arch, they already dropped the legacy drivers completely. We would go back to a rolling driver update, and only offer the latest Nvidia driver. This might bring back the known issues, that some graphic cards …

With the Stable-Update on the 2020-12-30 we decided to Remove outdated Nvidia Drivers. This resulted in a massive negative feedback and broken systems. Here is a lesson: don’t listen to the people having no idea what are they talking about and dive really deep into the web to find a solution for your problem on your own. I found mine on some forgotten russian forum for example…

And sorry, can’t say “thank you” to anybody above, all of you were misleading.

So here’s the real lesson, check your facts and drop the combativeness especially when you have just joined a forum.
