my vlc and kmplayer are not palying videos in a single window. there’s one layer for the video and another is the default application window with all the controls…

any help regarding this would be great…
thanks in advance

this is for vlc, go to tools > preferences > and check this option

Screenshot_20220104_192721

restart vlc

thanks very much… i looked at the option yesterday thought about turning it but didnt …

btw km player also has the same issue

its still happening for some videos …

try setting auto-raising the interface from never to video

its still the same

Seems like an option … and if you cant find it … you might try liquidating vlc config.

rm -r ~/.config/vlc

i tried this… but its the same…

can it be a problem of my nvidia card?

Please make sure that vlc is closed first.
Then remove (oh I realized theres some extra vlcrc in there … adding a wildcard)

rm -rf ~/.config/vlc*

:face_with_head_bandage: same still…

Download this sample video

If it works on that one, go to the help forum of the provider that sold you those videos as the problem is not with your system, but with the videos themselves.

:crossed_fingers:

its the same with this one too

My vlc has “Integrate video in interface” checked by default already, so that didn’t help when I encountered this behavior. What did fix it for me was setting Preferences->Video->Output to “X11 video output (XCB)”. I am still running Xorg and not Wayland yet, so I haven’t tested this with Wayland, but it might be worth trying.
