well i have used the firmware version from raspberry pi succesfully (the pi has the same usb 3.0 chip) and works fine in Manjaro, i don’t know why it did not work for you.

Manjaro is stuck again in start job running for livemedia mhwd script
So I am back 2 where I started, though updated the firmware to somewhat recent version.
It partially worked…when I connect my 2 external HDDs it drops connection completely ( seems like power related issue). With external ssd it worked but with very low speed.
After flashing the firmware which I mentioned above it started working again with 2 HDDs
Why certain distros are not working? In case of Manjaro it is working with kernel 5.4 just fine…so is there something removed from newer kernels i.e. 5.10 that is causing the issue… And if that is the case then how is Ubuntu working with kernel 5.11?!!
I should also mention vanilla Arch works if installed in arch way. There is a graphical arch installer named Calam Arch Installer which also doesn’t work, boots into desktop but no internet & weird system behaviour.
