Virtualbox host modules meta package - update request

Hey Packagers,

If someone has some time would they mind updating the meta virtual box host modules package to remove kernel 5-10 or make it optional? With 5-15 being the latest LTS kernel for manjaro I would love to tidy up and remove 5-10.

Just to clarify, which package are you talking about exactly? I can only find these:

$ pacman -Ss virtualbox-host
extra/linux414-virtualbox-host-modules 6.1.32-2 (linux414-extramodules)
    Host kernel modules for VirtualBox
extra/linux419-virtualbox-host-modules 6.1.32-2 (linux419-extramodules)
    Host kernel modules for VirtualBox
extra/linux44-virtualbox-host-modules 6.1.32-3 (linux44-extramodules)
    Host kernel modules for VirtualBox
extra/linux49-virtualbox-host-modules 6.1.32-2 (linux49-extramodules)
    Host kernel modules for VirtualBox
extra/linux510-virtualbox-host-modules 6.1.32-8 (linux510-extramodules)
    Host kernel modules for VirtualBox
extra/linux515-virtualbox-host-modules 6.1.32-8 (linux515-extramodules)
    Host kernel modules for VirtualBox
extra/linux516-virtualbox-host-modules 6.1.32-8 (linux516-extramodules)
    Host kernel modules for VirtualBox
extra/linux517-virtualbox-host-modules 6.1.32-0.4 (linux517-extramodules)
    Host kernel modules for VirtualBox
extra/linux54-virtualbox-host-modules 6.1.32-7 (linux54-extramodules)
    Host kernel modules for VirtualBox
community/linux515-rt-virtualbox-host-modules 6.1.32-7 (linux515-rt-extramodules)
    Host kernel modules for VirtualBox
community/linux516-rt-virtualbox-host-modules 6.1.32-3 (linux516-rt-extramodules)
    Host kernel modules for VirtualBox
community/virtualbox-host-dkms 6.1.32-2
    VirtualBox Host kernel modules sources

and out of those virtualbox-host-dkms does not depend on any kernel.

The other ones do depend on their respective kernel - but that should not be a problem. Just remove them as well when removing the kernel.

it’s in pamac, it doesn’t show as from a repo just a meta-package that keeps the latest version installed.

linux-latest-xxx or linux-lts-xxx metapackages are not part of Manjaro packages since long time, remove them. It is even shown on your screenshot, they don’t belong to any repository.

That does not exist anymore.

Then remove it and install a repo package. It seems you have neither been following #announcements posts nor reviewing your update logs. You still have some old, deprecated packages installed.
