Virtualbox-dkms compile failed with 7.1 kernel

Hi, not sure if this is the right place for this. I installed the update no problem. Then I installed kernel 7.1 and had a problem there. The DKMS compile of the virtualbox driver(s) failed. I fell back to 6.18. Here is the log:

You forgot the linux71-headers package - dkms depends on it.

It appears you may be in an unsupported, partial upgrade state. The current version of virtualbox is 7.2.10.

EDIT: Hang on, I think there may be mismatched package versions in the latest testing update. Investigating…

@Yochanan , @linux-aarhus I will make sure to install the headers. I do that as a matter of course, but I’m not above screwing it up.

I’ll also reinstall virtualbox and the virtualbox DKMS package and see if that helps.

I was just about to say that pacman is determined to install 7.2.8. Ok, I’ll wait for an update.

The plot thickens (maybe). When I try to install virtualbox-host-dkms, 7.2.8 is what comes up there too.

Might need to update with sudo pacman -Syuu to allow downgrades:

dkms package won’t compile on 7.1 series unless you patch it: patched PKGBUILD
