Video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-prime leads to no graphical session starting

I have been trying to use the mhwd (gui and cli) to install the intel/nvidia prime drivers on my system. The installer dose not report any problems but when the system reboots, it gets stuck at a Manjaro Linux <number and some other fluff> but never the SDDM greeter screen.

From running journalctl -xr I would see this message commonly

I have tried switching kernels from linux67, linux68, and linux66 but they all yeild the same problem.

Moderator edit: In the future, please use proper formatting: [HowTo] Post command output and file content as formatted text

Since you haven’t been around for awhile, you might not have noticed we have many more fancy Tutorials.

Unfortunately, your small snippet from whatever log that was from is not helpful at all. We have no idea what happened.

Please see:

…and notice I fixed your formatting—this time.

So that code snippet came from the journalctl run that I did. It was the only thing that I could find pointing towards a problem. I have the xorg log file form the boot session

I also did some poking around and there is something related to sddm but I think its related to Xorg not starting (or seeming to crash as to what I think the blip of the screen is)

Your kernel is EOL and I would very mcuh expect it to cause problems.
I am surprised you were able to install the drivers at all.

Anyhoo … please install and boot into a supported kernel and remove EOL ones like 6.5

I have same problem with 550 nvidia driver.
For now use 470 until it repair.

If you have the ‘same problem’ then you too should remove your EOL kernels.

I have 6.6, 6.7 and 6.8 installed - the problem is the same in all of them.

UPD - I’m using Unstable Branch*

I looked at all the mhwd-nvidia packages - pay attention to the package size of the latest driver - maybe this is the problem?
