Not all applications support global menu. As for browsers Brave, ungoogled-chromium.
Although using yay is highly not advisable in Manjaro, the unknown packages here above I installed with yay.

yay is available in the official repositories.

That thread discusses “things to be careful of when using the AUR” and makes no mention of yay at all.
Yes, users should be familiar with the AUR before using it.
No, there is nothing wrong with using yay.

(except that by default it technically uses noconfirm when it detects no conflicts, but I doubt this is what you were referring to)

In fact pamac has been shown to be among the more problematic of AUR helpers - having problems with user prompting, failing to build split packages, confusing repo and AUR packages, etc … and in this sense yay may may be more preferable by comparison.
For whatever its worth I use paru.
