in the last chapter “Manjaro User Guide” on https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php/Using_Manjaro_for_Beginners there is a link noted to the local User Guide (“/usr/share/doc/manjaro/Beginner_User_Guide.pdf”). Unfortunately the folder and the document do not exist in a normal installation.
I thought, someone would fix this in the wiki. But as it is a wiki I wanted to fix this myself.
But neither my forum account works for logging in, nor creating a new account works “Incorrect or missing CAPTCHA.”; and I tried the URL, thtat was wanted with and without the “https://”.
Is the account creation broken? Is there a better place to post this?
The document mentioned is also missing from my installation.
I assume it was once part of the installation and was then removed from the ISOs at some point. It’s only logical that it was also removed from the website.
As this guide was produced by a former Manjaro Team member, who possibly left not long after the 2020 version was produced, this oversight should likely be referred back to @philm directly.
Obviously, much of the content is either outdated or no longer relevant, and the screenshots throughout could use updating:
This doesn’t seem a particularly difficult project to maintain, albeit likely time consuming. Optionally, a few more translations could also be a welcome enhancement.
It makes little sense to update the Wiki link until the project has been re-established. Completely removing the respective paragraph from the Wiki for the time being makes better sense. @wiki
