USB disk mount/unmount

Hi everybody

Manjaro KDE/Plasma with all latest updates, kernel 6.14.6-2-MANJARO.

When I’m connecting any USB drive to comp, pop-up comes with message:

I’ve noticed, that clicking on “Mount” doesn’t have any effect, if automount option is active in settings:

Disk is actually mounted, it works, but there’s no “Safely remove” option, and I can do it from console only.
If I am disabling this option in settings, then everything is ok, “Mount” can be clicked and menu is changed so I can use"Safely remove" option as usual:

I cannot say when exactly this happened, I’m absolutely sure it was working properly before.
I think this is an error.

Hi @teimuraz1962,

That is what automount is supposed to do. It automatically mounts the device for you.

Is there an Eject button? I think it’s the same.

There is no unmount command - only the eject button or the Safely Remove which completely remove the device from the file manager.

I cannot remember if there ever was an unmount command in dolphin because I mostly use pcmanfm-qt which provides both an unmount and an eject command.

There is, in the context menu for the device I’ve mounted and unmounted an ISO with it only yesterday.

In dolphin I have that behaviour for an ISO too - but not for USB disk devices.

With pcmanfm-qt - I have both eject and unmount - but not with dolphin :man_shrugging:
