I hope it got better with my edits…

What does that mean? Either it works or it doesn’t.

I see you have AUR packages installed, try updating with either:

pamac update --no-aur

or

sudo pacman -Syu

After a successful update, then worry about your AUR packages.

Also, did you search the forum and/or web for the error message? Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

I’ll suggest doing the repo updates using sudo pacman-mirrors -f and then pacman -Syu first, then going through your AUR packages.

I see you seem to be using the Stable branch yet have a selection of AUR packages installed. Note that you’d be better using the Testing or the Unstable branch really, if you need to use AUR stuff.

Maybe this post Pacman/Pamac - Invalid or corrupted database - #2 by Mirdarthos will help?

ok I see, it is only the AUR packages , that cannot update:

when running

 sudo pacman -Syyu
[sudo] password for kalimerox:
:: Synchronizing package databases...
 core                  139,0 KiB  65,1 KiB/s 00:02 [######################] 100%
 extra                   8,3 MiB   639 KiB/s 00:13 [######################] 100%
 community              29,0   B   173   B/s 00:00 [######################] 100%
 multilib              146,3 KiB   746 KiB/s 00:00 [######################] 100%
:: Starting full system upgrade...
 there is nothing to do

I could update. In the pamac gui it still shows me not updated software, but I just realize these are all AUR packages. When I try to update these I get:

Cannot update Failed to prepare transaction . Invalid or corrupted database.
But this is a AUR problem then I should ask in the AUR section of the forum

yeah I did, I did update the mirrors etc. but it was not easy to find good advice as I just had the error message within the UI about the corrupted database. …

ok I think I got it. Thank you all for your help and pointing me to that thread.

Updating within the three point menu of pamac (update database) solved the problem.

This repo has been defunct for a year or more.

And you having it also indicates you probably have unmanaged pacnews.

honestly it s the first time i hear about pacnews ;(

I will read into it.

sudo pacman -Syu pacman-contrib
pacdiff -o

That will tell you which ones you have … but for further maintenance and actually managing them then consult the guide and/or other threads here.
