[Unstable Update] May 2026

Updating to mesa 1:26.1.1 resulted in many font artifacts in multiple apps for me. Fonts on webpages in vivaldi almost unreadable. Downgrading to mesa 1:26.0.6 resolved the issue. Intel HD graphics 2000, i915 driver. Also reported here:

p.s. I see I should to switch to mesa-amber, for older hardware. That works fine for me also.

for version 7.1 RC AMD EPP and laptop
you should add this option on boot : “amd_pstate=dynamic_epp=1”

linux 7.0.10 and 6.18.33 needs some patch removals:

on 7.0 and 6.18:

  • 0001-Bluetooth-btmtk-accept-too-short-WMT-FUNC_CTRL-events.patch
  • 0030-asus-wmi-fixup-screenpad-brightness.patch

only on 6.18:

  • 0001-dirty-frag-rxrpc-fix-from-netdev-list.patch
  • 0002-dirty-frag-rxrpc-fix-from-netdev-list.patch

Verified with local builds

After upgrading to systemd 260.2-1:

systemd[1]: sockets.target: Found ordering cycle: systemd-networkd-resolve-hook.socket/start after network-pre.target/start after nftables.service/start after basic.target/start after sockets.target/start - after systemd-networkd-resolve-hook.socket

HOW NOW? :innocent:

If you use NetworkManager then simply disable systemd-networkd.service. I had one occasion in the past where a systemd update had enabled systemd-networkd.service on its own.

The behavior mentioned here does not manifest itself after updating gdm from 50.0-2 -to 50.1-1 .
