[Unstable Update] July 2024 Edition

6 posts were split to a new topic: Remote desktop segmentation fault

I’m encountering a strange issue with my Xbox One controller after switching from Manjaro stable to unstable. The problem seems to be that the inputs on the controller are mapping incorrectly—specifically, some buttons are registering actions that they shouldn’t be.

Yesterday, I managed to temporarily resolve the issue by removing the controller from the Bluetooth menu and re-adding it. However, the problem has resurfaced today without any apparent changes on my end.

Anyone could help me diagnose what could be happening here?

On a Plasma Wayland session, krunner has started following the new window placement rules specified in Window Management -> Window Behavior -> Advanced -> Window placement. (I set mine to random usually, but if I change to Centered/Top-Left/etc., it will follow those rules.) This is also new, as of plasma 6.1.3, in addition to the above noted issues.

Back In Time 1.5.0 is now available using PyQt6!

Let me know if there are any issues, I’m in contact with the current developer.

EDIT: To clarify, I mean as far as any packaging or dependency issues. Please create an upstream issue if you have any problems with functionality.

Btw, most of those KDE issues appear to be resolved now, with the exception of the krunner launch-location and main settings not launching. (There are still exceptions in the logs of course.)

So, KDE is not longer as chaotic as it was for a bit there.

:point_right: I’ve just added nvidia-open-dkms 555.58.02-2 to the unstable repo. No precompiled modules just yet. Please note that the open kernel modules require Turing and newer GPUs.

:information_source: For those who have never used DKMS modules before, note that one will need to install the appropriate linux-headers package for each kernel one has installed; i.e., linux610-headers for linux610.

waiting for them on testing branch. rumors says that nvidia-open drivers are in parity on performance with proprietary drivers
and nvidia tells that for new things we should switch to this version of drivers

Oh! Interesting! Curious about the open drivers for the past 2 years or so. Tried using them a while back, but wasn’t able to reach the OS. Good to see there’s been made progress on that end :raised_hands:
