:information_source: You will need to rebuild any AUR Python packages that install files to site-packages or link to libpython3.13.so.

Print a list of of packages that have files in /usr/lib/python3.13/ :

pacman -Qoq /usr/lib/python3.13/

Rebuild them all at once:*

pamac build $(pacman -Qoq /usr/lib/python3.13)

Use rebuild-detector to see if anything else needs to be rebuilt:

 checkrebuild

* It’s recommended to clean your build cache first with pamac clean --build-files

3 posts were merged into an existing topic: Troubleshooting launching xfce/any session on live ISO

FYI, librewolf 153.0.3_1-1 was just added to the Arch repos. The AUR package had an epoch set which was removed, so one will need to manually install the repo version to replace the AUR version.

Tor Browser no longer plays videos and live streams.

“Unfortunately, your device or browser does not support livestreaming. Make sure you use the latest browser version or try another device.”

I suspect this is because Tor, which is based on Firefox, depends on libavcodec.so.62, just like Firefox and Zen Browser. However, ffmpeg was updated to version 9.0.5 in the “unstable” repository and provides libavcodec.so.63.

The solution for me was to install ffmpeg4.4 in addition, since a downgrade wasn’t possible due to too many dependencies.

Yes, Librewolf completely stopped playing videos with a no codec error.

It’s reproduced in Brave, I’ll see what needs to be rebuilt when I have time. Tor is probably dead too, but I haven’t checked yet. On YouTube, everything died too.

Installing ffmpeg4.4 solved this.

The installation was successful, all data remained in place.

Do we need ffmpeg 4.4 as well, or will the problem resolve itself in the next few days?

From what I’ve read, ffmpeg 9 won’t be supported until Firefox 155. I wouldn’t want to wait that long.

Did ffmpeg4.4 solve your problem?

FF 155 release day is September 1.

However, aljazerra live works fine for me with the (Arch/Manjaro) FF release and Nightly (from Mozilla) which is my main browser and ffmpeg 9.

No, you don’t need it.

Notice there is a compatibility fix for the arch build so the most recent package should work (it does for me)

and a fix for Tor-Browser ?

There is no tor-browser package in the repo. This browser comes as executable from the Tor Project. I’m afraid you have to ask over there.

Cardwire is now in the repos as a replacement for Supergfxctl. See the updated topic:

The package lib32-libxvmc has been moved to AUR on August 16. 2026

Building ISO from unstable branch will fail because lib32-libxvmc has been removed with the latest Arch Linux snap.

EDIT: I have updated the Packages-Mhwd to exclude the package.

I just installed kernel 7.2. In inxi it appears with an extra dash as:

Since a few days a Timeshift snapshot (using rsync) takes a long time to complete. Usually around 22 seconds, it now takes more than 90 seconds. Maybe related to rsync vs. 3.50 ?

update 22-08: downgraded to rsync 3.4.4-1 and snapshot takes 21 seconds to complete.

A post was split to a new topic: How can WoL (Wake on LAN) be automatically activated?

Update Today: Dolphin, The icons are very small. This cannot really be changed if you use the option to have individual settings for each folder.

Edit: after setting . close and reopen

I upgraded from kernel 6.18 to 7.2, and the system became faster and more responsive.
