That does seem to be the case. Neither pacman -F
, nor the PKGBUILD appears to indicate that it is part of nvidia-455xx-utils
.
Gnome 3.38
Manything is working but some extensions not yet updated:
(Sensor Perception) <-- working again! after update.
I installed the Gnome 3.38 from the unstable branch (and all other updates from that bracch)/
I am using the nouveau driver which has been working fine for months.
Now Gnome crashes on startup and I can not run an X session.
dmesg shows the following error:
direct firmware load for nouveau/nv84_xuc00f failed with error -2
Checking some more, the problem seems to be with gnome-shell/mutter 3.38.1
After downgrading both of those to the 3.36.6 versions, I am able to run the Gnome desktop again along with the various 3.38 gnome applications
NOTE: I still get the error about failed firmware load but it doesn’t seem to matter.
Bluetooth audio seems to be broken with “pulseaudio-modules-bt” after the latest update (it does work with “pulseaudio-bluetooth” though)
edit needs rebuilt against pulseaudio 13.99.2
Me too.
Would this help?: sudo usermod -a -G systemd-journal [username]
Besides: on Gnome 3.38 the close-gadget of some progs react very slow…
@oberon, it seems your PGP key is invalid.
i have just tried to update to qt5-base-5.15.1-3-x86_64 and got this error message:
qt5-base: signature from "Bernhard Landauer <oberon@manjaro.org>" is invalid
Yep, can confirm ALSA-Driver is buggy:
snd_ens1371
snd_pcm_avail()
gave value 0 or another one < min_avail
Needs to reported to the Developer of the ALSA Driver
um…nvidia-455xx-utils v455.28-1 omits nvidia-settings again?
Thanks for the hint - I’ll fix this right away (with build -2).
Gnome 3.38 - everything works now (10/10/2020)
I ran gnome-reset and removed manjaro-gnome-settings.
All is well with gnome 3.38.1 now
The app corectrl needs a rebuild. Now complains about missing libbotan-2.so.15. Building from AUR or creating a symbolic link from libbotan-2.so fixes it.
creating a symbolic link from libbotan-2.so to where?
Edit:
rename link: /usr/lib/libbotan-2.so.16 to /usr/lib/libbotan-2.so.15
Recent updates have resolved this for the .Leave > Shut down sequence, but not the Leave > Restart sequence.
Pamac insists on removing user-manager when updating to Plasma 5.20 in Unstable. Is it normal? I’m hesitating to press “OK”.
I’ve seen the same question on my arch installation, so I’m inclined to say: yes.
Did you answer yourself?
Or to whom?
I did update my laptop to Plasma 5.20, but the cursor changes depending on what part of the desktop i place it.
Looking at the repos i see plasma-workspace is still at 5.19.5, so i guess that’s the missing piece of the puzzle?
