Unstable LAN connection?

Hello, Is there a way to root out why the LAN connection keeps on dropping (no internet - on Network Manager?) Everything I do to bring the connection back, Reboot, Reset via systemctl, delete the old config and set New Ethernet connection never works except using TimeShift to roll everything back?

Why have you connected this device? Have you checked if the situation improves if you disconnect it?

Does the same thing no matter the LAN port? I’m waiting for things to go wrong so I can post that next.

But its sod’s law that when you want something to happen. The universe lets you down.

I had the same issue a while back, the LAN would constantly drop for no reason no matter which kernel I was using. The problem turned out to be the cable itself. Specifically the plug connecting to the PC. There are eight gold pins which had become ‘corroded’ (no longer shiny). I used a small knife to clean up those pins and the issue went away.

Look at your LAN cable connectors and possibly try a new cable.

Thankyou, i’ve given that a try and also ordered a Ethernet Pci-e card. I did replace the LAN cable already… :slight_smile: lets see how this goes.
