Hello, I am from Bangladesh. I use Linux Mint. I use unijoy keyboard on ibus to write Bangla. Recently testing Manjaro KDE (manjaro-kde-22.1.3-230529-linux61). If everything goes well, I will use Manjaro from now on. But first of all, I got into trouble while writing Bangla (Bengali). Installed ibus. Installed ibus-m17n. But not getting unijoy layout there. There are other keyboards. But I want to use unijoy. Does anyone know of a way to get unijoy back to Manjaro? Thanks a lot.
Welcome to the forum!
You could try the ibus-openbangla-git
package from the AUR…
pamac build ibus-openbangla-git
Thanks for replying. I don’t know whether unijoy can be written with openbangla. Still went to install. After downloading 108 mb the text came-
==> Starting build()…
cmake: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.32’ not found (required by cmake)
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().
I’m sorry but I cannot help you any further at this point. I can only help in pointing out packages, but in this case, it’s a package from the AUR (Arch User Repository), which Manjaro does not maintain — its contents are uploaded by volunteers — and messing with different essential system libraries is beyond my knowledge.
All I can advise you to do at this point is make sure you have the necessary tools installed from the Manjaro repositories, i.e. …
sudo pacman-mirrors -f 5 && sudo pacman -Fy && sudo pacman -Syyu base-devel cmake
Let that finish, however long it takes. Then try again with…
pamac build ibus-openbangla-git
Thank you very much my friend. More than 2 GB of data wanted to be downloaded while running the command you gave. I don’t want to spend so much data on this now. I stopped stopped Manjaro because the problem was not solved. Will try again when Manjaro 23 comes out. Until then, I pray that you stay well and stay healthy. Thanks again for thinking about my problem and helping me.
