Unable to resume from suspend with blinking caps-lock

capslock flashing recurs once per day (regularly on resume from suspend) with unable to boot or switch TTY.

If you do more than one consecutive suspends and resumes from suspend, you can bet you will have issues from time to time. Regardless the systems i tested, 3 resumes from suspend turned out to be, in my opinion, one suspend too much :upside_down_face:

Today I got 2 mentioned crashes. It appears more frequently.

Those crashes happen also after a clean boot, no suspend ?
Maybe there is something else to investigate. The logs show something that could give a hint?

Currently, it happens only on resume from suspend (usually I close the lid from 3 to 6 times a day)

Got the issue again 20 minutes ago.
I see some errors there, but not sure they are causing the main issue:

Changed the title to “Unable to resume from suspend with blinking caps-lock”, (but that won’t solve the issue) now it craps every day (losing all my activated virtual environments and some opened applications).

This looks like systemctl -b0 output instead of systemctl -b-1 output.

I’d figure a kernal panic would be logged here but it’s entirely possible it doesn’t get a chance as the ArchWiki points out.

kdump could be configured. but it appears to be involved since you might need to compile your own version of the kernel to enable the flags to allow kdump to work. Turns out the current Arch (and by consequence Manjaro) might already have these flags configured. It’ll store a dump on disk when configured correctly for investigation.

Approximately the last 6 months I’m experiencing an explicit dependency between the implied problem and specific system event.
The blinking caps-lock crash on resume now seems to be tied to a hidden, ongoing plasma-discover updates.
A typical chronology:
I suspend the laptop → Trying to resume: having caps-lock crash → Performing power Off/power On → Login in and seeing plasma-discover pop-up with an upcoming updates which I could not be aware/noticed of.|
And the above happens systematically (in terms of their dependency).
Is there any way to make plasma-discover to show its pop-up before crashing the machine?

It is strange to see Nvidia drivers loaded using flatpak.

If that is the cause - I suggest you remove the flatpak version - then install the drivers supplied using the repo.

If I uncheck a flatpak source, would it make a positive impact on the issue?
