Unable to resize applications

hey so im new here so please bare with

so i have installed manjaro everything seemed fine until i tried to resize basic applications
it will just flicker then go back to the size it was
also when i exit one app the others all try to go to full screen without asking them to

Go to the effects area in system settings and selectively disable them until you find the problem. You can disable them all, to make sure this is effect related, and then only use the ones you really need.
