I’ll drop this here in case it’s useful:
Windows chkdsk can also be run from bootable media:
- Windows 7/8/8.1/10/11 DVD/USB installer
(Shift+F10 to open a Command Prompt) - Windows Repair Disc, such as Hiren’s BootCD PE
- Windows To Go DVD/USB
- Using Rufus To Create Windows To Go USB Drive
Note: An OEM Windows Recovery Disc of any kind is not suitable.
