Unable to login with LXDM after update

I just updated this week and now my system will not allow me to login thru LXDM.

The greeter screen still shows up, but the only thing on it are the words ‘manjaro openbox’ and a black background. The user select and language options are not present and there doesn’t seem to be any response to mouseclicks or keypresses.

I can still login if I hit CTRL F2 or similar, login using the TTY and then I can startx as normal.

My configuration for LXDM appears to be valid as far as I can determine, so what could have happened?

EDIT:

Here is my system info per below:

I’ll note that LXDM hasn’t been supported by Manjaro for some time. I understand that it was once one of the Community editions, but is no longer available for download:

lxdm supported both gtk2 and gtk3 - I don’t remember if it was one or two packages.

Even so - the current lxdm package is gtk3 only - so the greeter theme you are using may be gtk2 - not functional.

Try editing the lxdm.conf to use Industrial as theme. Just recently another member had issues with lxdm and I looked into it.

I tested with a virtual machine running xfce - I could get it to work - but not easily.

Only the default Industrial theme is supported. Any other theme will cause errors in one way or another. Most - if not all - of the lxdm themes in AUR will require some work to be functional.

This is where you change the theme

theme=Industrial

The theme in this section is something different

gtk_theme should be an existing theme e.g. Adwaita

At any rate, I shall investigate migrating to a better supported display manager.
