I can duplicate the error. Unfortunately I cannot do anything about it, as the forum software is handled server-side via ssh, and there’s only one guy who has access to that. Furthermore, the forum software is also in need of an update, which — again — only the same person is capable of.

Yes, I’m afraid so.
He has already long ago moved onto other projects, and he’s not an Administrator or Moderator anymore. Besides, I don’t think he ever had ssh access.

I hope he’s doing well and given up access rights to the back end. That’s how some sites get poped.
I think he still occasionally helps out with the website. But that either way doesn’t have anything to do with the forum.
