Typing Lag Issues on Manjaro KDE

Hi to everyone

Foreword
I have been using Manjaro KDE on all the family computers (2 desktops and 3 laptops) without any problems for years, including a Lenovo Ideapad Pro 5 AMD (CPU 7840HS).
I have now bought a Lenovo Ideapad Pro 5 AMD (CPU 8845HS) on which I unfortunately experience the same problem as mentioned in this thread

Typing Lag Issues on Manjaro XFCE After Installing Development Tools

What I have done
Laptop without OS,
I installed the latest Manjaro KDE ISO and ran the latest updates.
I immediately noticed the problem and tried changing the kernel (6.6, 6.12, 6.13) but to no result.
So I tried to redo the installation and realised that the problem is already there with Live, before I even started the installation: I press the keys and the display is delayed.
What can I do? I don’t want to have to install Windows!

as English is not my language, translated with Deepl

I sometimes experience something similar with Manjaro (and other distributions) when running in a VM, but never on real hardware.

Let’s start by providing some system information (see below), which will help others to identify possible contributors.

Regards.

System Information:

Output of this command (formatted according to forum requirements) may be useful for those wishing to help:

inxi --filter --verbosity=8

or the short form:

inxi -zv8

Be prepared to provide more information and outputs from other commands whenever asked.

In the meantime I tried other distributions. Similar behaviour with cachy-os.
No typing problem with Neon and MX (but WIFI does not work with this one out of the box).
As I currently have Neon installed and want to test it thoroughly, I booted from the latest manjaro kde image (without installing) here is the output of inxi -z8v

Thanks

If you’re experiencing this on multiple distributions, it’s likely not an issue with Manjaro; possibly insufficient graphic performance.

Nonetheless, once you have Manjaro installed again, and a sync has been performed with yesterday’s slew of updates, this would be the prime time to test again and provide your system information.

Touch base again when you can provide that, and those wishing to help can then have a common frame of reference.

Regards.

When you install Manjaro again, some swap space may be beneficial. If you won’t be hibernating, then allow the same amount of space as (rule of thumb) half your RAM.

I note that you’re using AMD graphics and X11.

The combination of AMD graphics and Wayland results in a more performant system, generally. Perhaps switch to Wayland soon after installing to witness the difference yourself.

After performing necessary updates, provide system information again.

I have just finished installing Manjaro with swap and starting with wayland.
If I open a konsole and type a command (or any sequence of characters) nothing appears for a few seconds; the display delay seems even worse.
Anyway, here is the result of inxi

Thanks

I know that this solved issue is about an HP device but cpu/graphics are the same and solution of adding amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x10 to kernel parameters should be easy to test.
