Trying to get xbox elite controller headset/mic to work

This using a USB connection btw. NOT bluetooth. Gamepad works fine but the headset isnt being seen by anything. Mute button light doesnt even light up when i hit it.
I should also mention that I want the computer audio like games and stuff to use the 5.1 surround that I have, I just want comms to use headset/mic.

Imma bump this. Did you ever find a solution? I’m currently trying to figure out the exact same thing.

Currently no unfortunately. Seems we are a stubborn couple lol. I just find it so easy to use in windows.

System data shows only 2 audio devices detected for GPU and onboard audio
