Troubleshooting Nvidia RTX 5060

Hi Manjaro-Mates,

for some reason SDDM (KDE/Wayland) produces a black screen on RTX 5060 cards (means: no graphical login). My workaround currently is to use COSMIC’s login screen (cosmic-greeter) which just works fine.

This affects TUXEDO InfinityBook Max 15 - Gen10 (possibly RTX 5060 in general?). Also tried with the older 570xx driver - didn’t make any obvious difference.

I would try the plasma-login-manager. Pretty easy to switch:

$ sudo pacman -Syu plasma-login-manager
$ systemctl disable sddm
$ systemctl enable plasmalogin
$ sudo pacman -R sddm-kcm sddm

If you are not using SDDM already, disable the COSMIC login manager instead of sddm.

I will try with plasma-login-manager thank you for suggesting!

Please note that Manjaro KDE ISO still ships SDDM by default - likely resulting in a broken installation for many users. (Actually invested about 1.5 days to figure that out - unideal…)

EDIT: Yep, plasma-login-manager also works thanks!
