Trouble with trying to make a crash proof backup

I am trying to use this tutorial and am having an issue.

I boot into the the live iso from the GRUB menu and go through the steps to create a image to an external drive. After choosing the external drive and giving the image a name it fails and says it can’t find any drives to back up or something to that affect, It mentions unmounting but I never mounted anything. I just chose the option from the grub menu.
I noticed it initially seen all my partitions when I was selecting what drive to put the image on.
Let me know what other info you need.
I was trying not to have to use an usb flash drive with clonezilla on it to image my system.

So you have managed to add the Clonezilla ISO to your Grub boot menu and can boot it.

When you do, you are now in the live system which Clonezilla provides
and you are asking about how Clonezilla works, how to use it to create an image of your entire disk?

I assumed you are talking of the first point in this HowTo:
how to make a cold system backup

[HowTo] make a crash-proof backup in Manjaro for your entire system

I’d suggest trying Rescuezilla (https://rescuezilla.com) in place of Clonezilla. Rescuezilla is GUI driven, which I think makes it easier to select the correct source and destination drives. I use it to back up my SSD which has both Manjaro and Linux installed on it. Most importantly, I’ve also used it to successfully restore the system.

OK guys sorry for this post. I figured out my problem.
When I was setting this up I was trying to figure out how to get the font so I could see it. I have a post relating to this. In doing this i modified the boot loader line and that was my issue here.
I went back to check everything and noticed some missing options on the boot loader line. I corrected it and now it is backing up the system.
Sorry my mistake.
Thanks

Hm.
And this doesn’t help?

Clonezilla live usage

Where is your problem with the procedure?

Or try using what @aj8xr suggested instead - it’s perhaps easier to use.

I know neither one, but have used Clonezilla a long time ago.

I don’t use it because I do my backups with rsync - which is on any live ISO there is.

While the OP realised their own mistake marking their own post as the solution benefits nobody finding this thread. Topic closed.
