Trouble uninstalling simplescreenrecorder on Manjaro - Dependency conflict with dolphin

Hey everyone,

I’m encountering an issue while trying to uninstall simplescreenrecorder on my Manjaro KDE Plasma Whenever I attempt to remove it using the package manager, I get this error message:

Failed to perform transaction Could not satisfy dependencies:

  • Removing knewstuff breaks dependency knewstuff required by dolphin

It seems that the uninstallation process is causing a conflict with dolphin. I think there’s a dependency called knewstuff that dolphin relies on.

I’m not quite sure how to resolve this conflict and successfully uninstall simplescreenrecorder without causing any problems for dolphin or other necessary packages. Has anyone else experienced this issue before? Is there a recommended workaround or step-by-step procedure I should follow to ensure a clean uninstallation?

I would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions you can provide. Thanks in advance for your support!

You are probably removing too many orphans.

Try this first: pamac remove simplescreenrecorder

Then, you can check for orphans and cascading.

I don’t know what orphan is. But this command succesfully successfully uninstall the programm. I use stacer a lot. Maybe this was causing error.
