After booting, my touchpad works perfectly. If I wait long enough before starting any program, it keeps working perfectly. Long enough means mostly I have to wait until my “awesome” window manager has loaded up and is displaying the desktop items. If I start any program with a GUI before that point, the touchpad freezes and I need to reboot (because I don’t know how to help me otherwise, except plugging a USB mouse).
This problem has been persisting a couple of months now so I’ve developed the intuition that the Mozilla programs Thunderbird and Firefox seem to be particularly prone to freezing the touchpad upon being launched. For example, I launch PyCharm, everything OK, then launch Firefox, touchpad freezes.
Here’s my inxi:

How can I prevent my touchpad from freezing and, when it’s frozen, what commands could help me to explore the issue and maybe revive it?
Thank you in advance!
